World Standards Day (or International Standards Day) is an international day celebrated on 14 October each year.[1] The day honours the efforts of the thousands of experts who develop voluntary standards within standards development organizations such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME),[2] International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). She tried to blow it out, but her giggle made everyone smile. After cake, Kyra opened her presents. Inside one box was a soft Minnie Mouse toy. She hugged it tight and laughed. It was the best birthday ever. As the day ended, Kyra snuggled with her new Minnie toy, happy and tired after her magical day. Minnie Mouse seemed to smile back, as if to say, “Happy birthday, Kyra!”
