Our memory and our brain are amazing! However, it does not record our lives like a book! You cannot go back to a previous chapter to retrieve memories accurately. Attention issues, prior knowledge, and memory decay all interfere with the actual memories that are stored. There are so many different parts to our memory that all work separately and together to help us experience and remember life. A Library Book is excited to be the newest book in the library. Children are excited to borrow the new book. we follow one boy on his week with the library book reading it in the back of his car, at dr appointments and at bedtime. When the boy returns the book to the library a new boy checks it out. This boy is named Edward. Edward does not take care of the library book. He leaves it on the floor. A dog picks up the book in its mouth and carries it outside. Edwards mom finds the book outside and puts it in a dark closet. The library book is so sad. He sits in the dark closet for weeks until a letter comes from the library saying "Please return this book to the library, if this book has gone missing, please replace the book so others can enjoy it" Edward forgot all about the library book! He looks in all the regular places, on his bookshelf, under his bed. He can't find it anywhere! Finally Edwards mom tells Edward, "Maybe we need to start looking in some weird places" Edward looks on top of the fridge, behind the computer, even in his dirty clothes basket. Edward finally opens up the closet to find the lost library book! Edward and his mom bring the book back to the library where a young girl promptly checks it out again

One sunny morning, a little dog named Benji woke up feeling excited. Today, he was going on an adventure! (Children start in Dog Pose – hands and feet on the ground, hips high.) Benji stretched his legs and wagged his tail. Then, he ran out of his house and into the big, green forest. As he walked, he saw a tall, strong tree standing in the middle of the path. "Wow! What a big tree!" Benji said. He stood still and stretched his arms up like the branches. (Children move into Tree Pose – stand on one foot, arms up.) Benji heard a soft "meow." He turned and saw a small, fluffy cat sitting on a rock. "Hello, Cat! What are you doing?" asked Benji. "I am stretching my back," said the cat. She arched her back up and then down. (Children do Cat Pose – on hands and knees, round and arch the back.) Benji and the cat continued walking together when they heard a hissing sound. "What is that?" asked the cat. A long, shiny snake slithered out from behind a bush. "Hello, friends," said the snake. He stretched his body long and lifted his head. (Children do Snake Pose – lie on the stomach, hands under shoulders, and lift the chest.) Benji and the cat were happy to meet the snake. "Do you want to come on our adventure?" they asked. "Yes! But first, let’s rest on this big rock," said the snake. The three friends sat quietly on the rock, feeling the warm sun on their backs. (Children do Rock Pose – kneeling, fold forward, forehead on the ground, arms by sides.) After resting, they all stood up, stretched, and continued their adventure together, ready for more fun! The End.

The wooden table was covered in newspaper, already stained with seasoning, and piled high with bright red crawfish, steaming potatoes, and golden corn. Gage sat on his knees, eyes wide as he stared at the mound of crawfish in front of him. His little brother wiggled in his high chair, smacking the tray while Daddy leaned back with a grin, beer in hand. Momma rolled up her sleeves. “Alright, cher, time to learn how to peel a crawfish.” Momma laughed, grabbing a fat crawfish. “Ain’t no wrong way, long as you get the meat out. His face lit up. “Mmm! That’s good!” His little brother babbled, reaching for the pile. Daddy laughed. “Looks like we got another crawfish lover.” The kitchen filled with laughter as they peeled and ate, passing corn and potatoes around. When the ambulance arrives and Max is placed on the stretcher, he briefly loses consciousness and a bleeding wound can be seen on his right temple. His father is completely distraught and cries bitterly. The paramedics calm him down and dress Max's wound, but he wakes up again and starts crying. The father is allowed to take the ambulance to the children's hospital. Max and his father are admitted to the hospital, where his score on the GIasgow coma scale for children is 9, confirming the diagnosis of moderate traumatic brain injury with bruising on the right. His wound can be taped and closed with terile adhesive wound strips (Steri-Strip@). A simple wound dressing is then applied, which is secured with a mesh bandage Max is very anxious the whole time he is being cared for, always seems absent, cries a lot and can hardly be calmed even by his father The nurses and doctors question the father about what happened and he provides information about Max's condition immediately after the fall.

Nik is from Haiti and moving to America to go to school. He is excited to meet his new family, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and a dog. He is very scared to leave Haiti. Nik was scared on the plane but loved seeing the big city lights. He liked his new home, it was bigger than hes ever seen. The washing machine and dryer was very scary to him because he had never seen one before. His dog Luna was sweet and friendly. All of the food is very different. He didn't like ice cream or cake but he loved spaghetti and pizza. Nik was both excited and sad at bedtime. He's never had a room or a bed to himself so it was a little scary. His new mom stayed with him until he was ready for sleep. As he lied there alone, looking at the stars in the sky, he wasn't scared anymore because he knew his family in Haiti was looking at the same stars.
