One day, I met my brother Carson in the park. Then we decided to go on an adventure together. First, we went to Japan and saw a big volcano. It was so beautiful. After that, we went to a hotel and stayed for two days. On the first day, we had dinner together. It was delicious! On the second day, we visited the zoo. There were lions, capybaras, and monkeys. We had so much fun! Then we went to a toy shop and bought a cool toy for Carson. On the third day, as we were heading home, the volcano suddenly erupted! Carson and I ran away as fast as we could. Carson shouted, “Hurry up! Let’s get on the plane!” So, we quickly left Japan. Four hours later, we arrived home safely. Carson and I had so much fun in Japan!

Part 3: Rights for All One night, Twila saw the people create the Declaration of the Rights of Man, with words like "Liberty," "Equality," and "Fraternity." “What do those words mean?” Twila asked. “They mean freedom and fairness for everyone,” Luna said. “The people want a better future, inspired by great thinkers and the American Revolution.” Part 4: The Reign of Terror But then Twila saw the guillotine and frightened people. "This is the Reign of Terror," Luna explained. "Robespierre wanted to protect the revolution, but many people were executed, even Queen Marie Antoinette. It was a dark time." Twila dimmed her light. “That’s so sad.” Part 5: Napoleon’s Rise and Fall Twila saw Napoleon Bonaparte take charge. "He brought order with the Napoleonic Code and built a huge empire," Luna said. "But his ambition led to mistakes—invading Russia in winter and losing key battles. Eventually, he was exiled." Twila sighed. “Even the brightest stars can fall if they’re not careful.” Part 6: A New Hope Finally, Twila saw leaders at the Congress of Vienna restoring peace. “They redrew borders and inspired fairness and equality worldwide,” Luna said. Twila twinkled brightly. “Even after tough times, people can create a brighter future.”

One day the library media center had an unwelcomed visitor. This visitor was not an ordinary human. This visitor was not even human at all. It was from Mars. It was Martian. And it was a fly. The media specialist and her assistant Miss Bee and Miss Crystal saw him in the nonfiction section. They didn't know that he was an alien. They assumed he was a mutated fly that was so big that he might bite one of their students. No matter how hard they tried they were unable to catch the fly. Soon, they gave up because they had a job to do and that was to make sure all students could come in and check out great books to read as well as help students with their Chromebooks. So Miss Bee decided to trap the fly in another room so no student could be harm by the fearsome creature.

Haden Edwards received an empresario contract to settle 800 families near Nacogdoches. When he arrived with the families in the 1820s, he discovered people already lived there. They arrived long before Mexico gave him the grant. Edwards became very angry and tried to take over the town. The Mexican government did not support Edwards. Instead, they annulled his contract. Edwards stayed in the area and attempted to start a rebellion. On December 21, 1826, Edwards and his supporters claimed part of East Texas free and independent of Mexico. They named it the Republic of Fredonia. They even had support of the Cherokee in the area. However, most Anglo settlers in Texas did not support Haden’s rebellion. When a group of men from Austin’s colony joined with Mexican soldiers to march on Fredonia, Haden and his brother fled to the United States. The unrest caused Mexican leaders to rethink their immigration policies.
