One sunny afternoon, in a small neighborhood, there lived a boy named Noah. Noah was kind, always smiling, and loved spending time outdoors with his friends. His favorite place to hang out was under a big oak tree near the park, where all the neighborhood kids gathered to play. One day, while they were playing, his friend Lily asked, "Noah, I’ve noticed that you always talk about being kind and loving everyone. Why is that?" Noah paused for a moment, smiling softly. "It’s because of someone really special to me. His name is Jesus." Lily tilted her head, curious. "Who’s Jesus?" "Jesus is God’s son," Noah explained. "He came to show us how much God loves us. He taught people how to be kind, to help others, and to love even when it’s hard. And He loves us so much that He even gave His life for us, so we can always be close to God." Lily’s eyes widened. "He sounds amazing! But… how do you know He loves us?" Noah pointed at his heart. "I feel it here, every day. Whenever I’m sad, I remember that Jesus is always with me, helping me be brave. And when I make mistakes, I know He forgives me because He cares." Lily thought about it and asked, "Can I know Jesus too?" "Of course!" Noah said, excited. "You can talk to Him whenever you want, just by praying. You can read stories about Him in the Bible. He’s like a best friend who’s always there." From that day on, Noah and Lily would sit under the oak tree, talking about Jesus and sharing stories of His love. Slowly, more of their friends joined, eager to learn about this incredible friend Noah had introduced them to. They learned to be kind, to forgive, and to love each other, just as Jesus had shown.

I am Kelly John, a young make adult, the hero of my own story. I was born and raised in the Philippines. I was left by my dad when I was 9 years, till then my mama raised me with all her might standing as my father and mother. Page 2: Some Pharisees were upset because Jesus' disciples didn't wash before eating. "It's not what goes in that makes us unclean," Jesus explained, "But what comes out of our hearts." Page 3: "Like mean words?" Ish asked, thinking about when she called Osh a meanie. "Yes," Jesus nodded, "Our words can hurt more than dirty hands." Page 4: XL explained, "We have to be careful what we say, because our words show what's in our hearts." "So we need to clean our hearts first?" Osh asked. Page 5: "Yes," Jesus said. "If we have kindness and love in our hearts, our words will be kind and loving too." "Like saying sorry when I'm wrong?" Ish asked. Page 6: "Exactly," XL smiled. "And complimenting Osh on his drawings?" "Even if they look like scribbles?" Ish giggled. Page 7: "Everyone makes mistakes," Jesus said gently. "But it's important to learn from them and try to be better." Page 8: "So, washing our hands is still important?" Osh asked, wanting to be sure. "Yes," XL chuckled, "We need clean hands and clean hearts!" Page 9: Osh and Ish thought about this. They realized that being kind and choosing kind words was just as important as washing their hands. Page 10: "From now on, I'll try to use my words to make others happy, not sad," Osh declared. Page 11: "Me too!" Ish chimed in. "Let's spread kindness, not germs!" They all laughed. Page 12: As they continued on their journey, Osh and Ish remembered Jesus' lesson. They learned that true cleanliness came from within, and that their words had the power to hurt or to heal.

She sees her parents setting up an altar and preparing food and learns to make a sweet rice cake with her mother. She is told that the festival is meant to honor parents and ancestors with offerings made at home and at the Vietnamese temple. Her family visits a temple and prays. Afterwards, they light and hang a paper lantern on a tree. The next day the family packs up old clothes and toys to give to their local Vietnamese charity. Mina is happy to remember her ancestors and help others, looking forward to doing it again next year
