BOOK COVER Picture 1 Lia bounced onto the couch, holding up her fingers. “Mom! Only ten more days until my baptism! That’s like… forever! Can’t we just do it tomorrow?” Picture 2 Mom smiled and tucked a loose curl behind Lia’s ear. “I know you’re excited, sweetheart. Baptism is a special day! But remember, waiting isn’t just about counting days—it’s about preparing our hearts.” Picture 3 Lia sighed. “But I am ready! I’ve been ready since last week!” Picture 4 Mom chuckled. “Let’s read a story before bed. I think you’ll like this one.” Picture 5 Lia snuggled under her blanket as Dad opened the scriptures. “Did you know Jesus had to wait for something really special too?” he asked. Lia’s eyes widened. “Really? What?” Picture 6 Dad smiled. “His ministry! Jesus was twelve years old when He taught in the temple, but He didn’t start teaching people everywhere until He was thirty.” Picture 7 “Thirty?!” Lia sat up. “That’s so long!” Mom nodded. “But while He waited, He prepared. He learned, prayed, and listened to His Father in Heaven. When the time was right, He was ready.” Picture 8 Lia thought for a moment. “So… waiting isn’t just waiting?” Dad kissed her forehead. “Exactly. It’s about what we do while we wait.” Picture 9 The next morning, Lia woke up with a new thought. Picture 10 “What if I get extra ready for my baptism?” Picture 11 She helped her little brother tie his shoes. Picture 12 She listened carefully during family prayer. Picture 13 She even asked Grandma about her own baptism day. Picture 14 At bedtime, Lia grinned. “Mom, Dad! Only nine more days until my baptism… and I’m still getting ready!” Mom hugged her tight. “That’s the best kind of waiting, Lia. Jesus is so proud of you.” Picture 15 Lia closed her eyes, her heart full. Baptism was still days away, but she already felt closer to Jesus.

Once there was a happy zoo owner named Mr. Wiggly, and his zoo was the best in the world. One day, a silly zoo owner named Mr. Bumble bought a very special animal from him: a giant Pink Gorilla! “This gorilla is amazing,” said Mr. Bumble. “But why are you selling it?” “Well,” said Mr. Wiggly with a twinkle in his eye, “because I have ONE important rule: Never, EVER touch the Pink Gorilla on his right shoulder.” Mr. Bumble promised not to touch it. But as soon as the Pink Gorilla arrived at his zoo, Mr. Bumble couldn’t stop wondering. “Why not?” he thought. “Will it tickle? Will it make him dance? Will something crazy happen?” Finally, he couldn’t wait any longer. One quiet day, Mr. Bumble tiptoed into the gorilla’s enclosure. The Pink Gorilla stared at him with big, curious eyes. Slowly, Mr. Bumble reached out his hand and… tapped the Pink Gorilla on his right shoulder. Suddenly, the gorilla stood up, roared, and started chasing him! “AHHHH!” Mr. Bumble screamed. He ran through the monkey house, over the giraffe field, and around the elephant pool. The Pink Gorilla stayed right behind him the whole time! Mr. Bumble jumped on a scooter, but the Pink Gorilla grabbed a skateboard and zoomed after him. He swam across a pond, but the Pink Gorilla grabbed a floaty and paddled right behind. Finally, Mr. Bumble stopped, out of breath. The Pink Gorilla leaned in close and said… “TAG! YOU’RE IT!” Then the Pink Gorilla laughed and sprinted back to his pen. From that day on, Mr. Bumble followed the rule: Never touch a Pink Gorilla’s right shoulder. You just might get a surprise!

Meet Donovan, a lively boy who loves running, jumping, and flapping his hands when he gets excited. One day at school, Donovan felt extra bouncy as he entered the classroom. His teacher, Ms. Carter, began talking about feelings, and Donovan’s excitement grew—soon his hands were flapping in the air! Some classmates noticed and wondered, "Why does Donovan flap his hands?" Ms. Carter smiled and said, "Everyone shows their feelings differently. Some people cheer, others jump, and Donovan flaps. That’s okay!" Donovan felt proud, knowing his flapping was just how he showed excitement. Then, Ms. Carter introduced a game called Superhero Breathing to help the class calm down when big feelings got too much. She stood tall, breathing in deeply and exhaling slowly. Donovan tried it too. He stood up, took a deep breath like a superhero, and felt his energy calm down, but he still felt strong. His classmates thought it was so cool, they joined in, practicing superhero breathing together. They learned that everyone expresses feelings in different ways, and that’s something special. Donovan still loved his super flap, but now he had superhero breathing for when he needed it. The class kept practicing together whenever their feelings got big. By the end of the day, Donovan realized his greatest superpower was just being himself. Ms. Carter reminded them, “Our differences make us unique.” Donovan felt proud of his super flap and his breathing skills. His classmates celebrated their own special ways of showing feelings too. Feeling proud and unstoppable, Donovan knew that with superhero breathing and being himself, he could handle any big feelings that came his way. 22 pages
