(page 1) Meet Bella! Today, she is playing outside when suddenly... ACHOO! Uh-oh! A tiny villain called a pathogen has entered her body! But don’t worry—the Immune System Superheroes are on the way! (Page 2) Deep inside Bella’s bones, the red bone marrow is working hard, creating new superheroes—B cells and T cells! These special cells will help fight the villain! (page 3) The pathogen starts making copies of itself. It thinks it can take over! But here come the first responders: Macrophages! These giant cells swallow up invaders and alert the other heroes! (Page 4) After gobbling up the enemy, the macrophages show pieces of the pathogen, called antigens, to the Helper T cells. This is like sending out an emergency call for backup! (page 5) The B cells hear the call and transform into plasma cells! They start making antibodies, tiny weapons that stick to the pathogens and stop them from spreading. (page 6) Meanwhile, Cytotoxic (Killer) T cells arrive! They find infected cells and destroy them to stop the pathogen’s plan! (page 7) Once the battle is almost won, Regulatory T cells make sure the superheroes don’t attack too much. They help the immune system calm down and return to normal. (page 8) After the battle, some B cells turn into Memory Cells. These cells remember the villain so they can defeat it even faster next time! (page 9) Bella feels better! Her primary immune response was strong, and next time, her secondary immune response will be even quicker! (page 10) Thanks to the Immune System Superheroes, Bella is safe! After all that fun, it was bath time! Splashy splashy, all clean! Then, snuggle time! You got to sleep with Mommy on a cozy bed on the floor. Uh oh, Mommy wasn't feeling well! She went to the doctor and got a boo-boo in her tummy all better. But the doctor said no more snuggles for a little while. Don't worry, though! Daddy will give you big hugs and sleep with you in your bed for a few nights. Mommy will come read you lots of stories to help you fall asleep! Soon, Mommy will be all better, and you can all have yummy strawberries, go on zoo adventures, and cuddle together for sleep time again!

Scorching summer days stretched before us. Suddenly, my brother Suraj burst in, panicked. Someone kept calling and hanging up! Turns out, he accidentally dialed the police, fearing my wrath more than the authorities. The phone blared again – it was Grandpa, worried about the police and firefighters outside our house! Apparently, our identically numbered neighbor had the "fire." Chaos ensued as Dad received a call about the false alarm. Terrified, we hid until the police arrived. A sheepish apology letter later, and all was (mostly) forgiven. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we laughed about the crazy day. It was a scary mix-up, but a hilarious reminder of the importance of honesty and communication. And maybe double-checking the house number before dialing 100.

There's vintage cars and old fire trucks in the enormous backyard. Maddox goes on adventures with his best friend, Aslan the Great Dane! Aslan is so large all you ever see of him are his four long, grey legs. Aslan is the mentor; cautious, guiding, teaching Maddox as he rushes fearlessly into crazy and dangerous situations. Maddox is learning to talk. He barks at everyone, yelling, pointing "woo-woo" instead of talking. Everything is called a woo-woo. Aslan teaches him the names of things like mama, dada, car, truck. Each time he points at something and calls it woo-woo, Aslan corrects him and gives the proper name, explaining who or what they are. Mama cries when he finally calls her mama! Dada smiles, he is so proud. In the end Maddox points to Aslan saying Woo-Woo and Aslan agrees, Yes, I am Aslan, the biggest woo-woo that ever was.
